This site is my public internet playground / sandbox for messing around with
stuff, mainly electronics and all kinds of hardware related hobby projects.
Amazingly, I have had the time to create some content that may be of some interest
(at least to somebody).
The new site layout is very minimalistic and, as before, it sucks and will definitely keep doing so,
but hopefully not as much. The language was also swapped from Finnish to English (except the blog).
Page updates / news:
04/07/2010 - The server PSU suffered a pretty epic failure this morning with a small explosion and some smoke. It also overloaded my UPS shutting down all the stuff that were behind it. I replaced the PSU right away with some old crappy second hand unit I had lying around.
30/05/2010 - 1-Wire adapter fixed (it had a shorted protection diode). Weather station wind instrument is also back online.
23/05/2010 - Thunderstorm killed the weather station 1-Wire adapter (bus master). I hope to get it fixed soon....
02/05/2010 - Finally managed to build a bird nest box with webcam + IR illumination. The box cam can be viewed from the
webcam page.
30/04/2010 - Network connection has returned back to "normal" again, but for how long....that remains to be seen. Added some damn fugly B/W graphics to enhance general visual appearance...
29/04/2010 - The whole site is now running through crappy GPRS wireless backup connection as our main connection is down again due to some ISP related hardware problems. Expect some serious slowness....
15/04/2010 - Fixed some stupid bugs and annoyances from
GPS data page. This thing might actually work now....
11/04/2010 - Added
a page that outputs the current local GPS service state.
16/03/2010 - After being offline for almost
one two three weeks now, our internet connection has finally been restored! The time it took for the ISP and their subcontractors to fully restore the connection and all the previous connection problems really reflect the poor level of our network upkeep and the overall state of our not-so-slowly deteriorating network infrastructure. And yes, for some reason Finland is considered (or at least advertised) to be
one of the most advanced "information societies" in the world.
11/02/2010 - Upgraded
Sajax from v0.12 -> 0.13 and fixed the scripts to work with the new version. Added about ten newly tested batteries to the
battery test page.
